As a Housekeeping Manager at YMCA Together, you will naturally be an empathetic and caring person wanting to provide high standards of cleanliness within our services for those experiencing homelessness. Your role as a housekeeping manager will be to oversee the day-to-day management of our housekeeping team to deliver effective, clean, and safe services.
Location: Liverpool L3
Salary: £34,995.00 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, shifts from 8am-8pm including weekends and bank holidays

What your week may look like
* Completing housekeeping audits in relation to service delivery and compliance at agreed frequencies.
* Reviewing housekeeping efficiencies and introducing innovation.
* Supporting teams to be fully compliant with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
* Ensuring housekeeping standards are always delivered to a high level by your team.
* Undertaking a range of people duties, including recruitment, inductions, training, and development plans.
* Monitoring and acting on areas identified as needing improvement.
* Supporting teams' learning & development within the role.
* Participating in team meetings, supervisions and reflective practice encouraging open, honest, and transparent feedback where continuous improvement is encouraged.
* Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults/children/young people who are at risk.
* Being flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the service, ensuring our SHREK values run through all of the work that you do.
* Promoting a supportive and inclusive culture within the service, valuing people and their diversity.

The skills we are looking for
* EXPERIENCE: Ideally you will have a background of working within residential settings. A good attention to detail delivering a high standard of cleanliness with well-rounded problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
* KNOWLEDGE: A good understanding of relevant and appropriate legislation, including knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment. An understanding of health and safety requirements in the workplace.
* COMMUNICATION: Excellent communication, fostering a respectful, collaborative and professional approach to a diverse range of people who you work alongside, always ensuring confidentiality.
* EMPATHY and RESPECT: The ability to empower people to deliver high standards of work, showing empathy whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
* COMMITMENT: The ability to work in an innovative and solutions-focused way, including reflecting and learning as you go, and a willingness to flex and adapt approaches as needed.
* ORGANISATION: Strong time management and the ability to manage and prioritise tasks.
* COMPUTER LITERACY: You will be IT literate and have experience of working with multiple software programs such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
What is a nice to have
* Good knowledge of the cleaning industry.
* Experience of working within residential settings.
* Knowledge of British Institute Of Cleaning Science standards.
* NVQ in relevant discipline.
