As the Contract Manager, you will be leading the development and implementation of contract strategies for the Transmission Operations contract portfolio to maximise contract value and mitigate risk.
You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end commercial contract cycle, involving strategy, procurement, implementation, management, and renewal phases of multi-million pound contracts. You will manage the commercial and operational aspects of outsourced service providers and personnel, driving continuous improvement across all service areas.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for:
* Identifying, managing, and delivering competitive tendering strategies for a specific portfolio of contracts to support the operations business’ commercial and performance objectives, focusing on higher value and/or more operationally complex contracts such as Cable Maintenance Agreement and Transmission OHL minor refurbishment.
* Working closely with the Procurement and Transmission Operations teams to prepare detailed contract scopes for invitations to tender for designated contracts.
* Providing ongoing commercial support throughout the contract lifecycle and managing requirements for modifying contracts.
* Chairing contract and project review meetings.
* Providing support for delegated, shared services and centralised purchases.
* Providing relevant updates for the monthly reporting process.
What you’ll bring
* HNC / Degree in Financial, Procurement, Law, Quantity Surveying or Contract Management discipline or equivalent experience.
* Detailed understanding of contract management processes with experience in commercial contracts.
* Experience in completing tender specification documents and proven experience in tender assessment processes for commercial contracts.
* Ability to assess, prioritise, and confidently make decisions in a dynamic service environment while anticipating issues and implementing effective strategies to manage them.
* Ability to think strategically to ensure commercial guidance supports immediate and long-term strategic objectives.
