Role Responsibilities:
* Primary responsibility for the credit review and analytical engagement of new and existing credit risk within the Treasury Investment and Trading Portfolios.
* Work with the current investment team to review and allocate investments within our existing portfolios and limits:
o Core Treasury
o Available for sales and hold to Maturity Portfolios.
o Alternate and Arbitrage Portfolios
o Sales and Trading business
* Assist with the Portfolio Management of the investments to appropriately allocate across country, industry, rating capital structure etc.
* Work with the investment team to position each credit and portfolio appropriately in the relevant maturity curve.
* Work with the Senior members of the team to build interbank and broker relationships to begin sourcing alternate and bespoke risk.
* Work with the broader team to increase our investment portfolios over the next 12 months to £500 million.
* Regularly review and analyse the macro environment with a view to positioning the portfolios to take advantage of structural and short term trends.
* Comply with the FCA/PRA’s Individual Conduct Rules, as outlined below.
Experience and Skills Required:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 5 years of Credit Analysis experience. Preferably with some of your experience working for/understanding a Credit Rating Agency.
* CA and/or CFA would be advantageous.
* Credit ratings, process and methodologies experience.
* Experience in credit market strategy and positioning.
* Portfolio management experience would be advantageous, but not essential.
* Experience in engaging with Front Office Traders and Portfolio Managers.
* Strong written and verbal communication.
* Business results and customer service focused.
* Credit, Fixed Income, Credit Derivatives and Bonds Product knowledge.
* Cross functional and commercial awareness.
* Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
* Interpersonal sensitivity.
* Flexible and works well within a team.
* Core interest to Africa would provide an advantage.
This is a permanent position paying up to £50,000 based on experience.
