Role Overview: We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented specialist to support data management and search strategy development for evidence synthesis products. This role is crucial for assisting research teams and methods experts in developing and executing comprehensive search strategies and managing data throughout the synthesis lifecycle, including dashboard development and maintenance. Key Responsibilities: Design and Execute Search Strategies: Develop and implement comprehensive search strategies, ensuring they conform to standards such as PICO or SPICE, and execute these searches in databases like Web of Science, Scopus, and EBSCO products. Data Management: Manage data and support the development and registration of protocols. Create data extraction templates using survey-based tools and explore innovative approaches to data extraction and management. Dashboard Development: Manage the data lifecycle, including developing and maintaining dashboards (e.g., PowerBI) to support data visualisation and analysis, ensuring insights are readily accessible and comprehensible. Innovation and Integration: Integrate new approaches, including AI, to enhance efficiency and opportunities in data management and search strategy processes. Participate in the design and development of new tools, including a protocol database. Collaboration and Communication: Participate in communities of practice for search strategy development and peer review. Communicate effectively and engage in external groups focused on evidence synthesis. Collaborate with others to develop CABI’s bibliometrics capabilities using industry-standard databases and CABI tools. About You: Experience: Extensive experience in designing and executing search strategies in databases like Web of Science, Scopus, and EBSCO products. Proficiency in developing search strategies for systematic reviews and similar evidence syntheses. Skills: Strong organisational and detail-oriented skills. Ability to run simple analyses and generate visualisations using tools like Excel, R, or other programs. Experience with data management, developing data extraction templates, and managing visualisations and dashboards using Microsoft or other products (e.g., Tableau). Innovation: Openness to integrating AI into data management and search strategy processes. Curiosity and willingness to test new approaches. Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Willingness to participate in communities of practice for evidence synthesis, including search strategy development. Education & Qualifications: Degree: Master’s degree in library, information, or data sciences or five years or more equivalent experience. Experience: Proven experience working on evidence syntheses. Preference for experience in fields outside of health and medical sciences. Technical Skills: Proficiency in R or other data science toolkits is appreciated. General knowledge and use of other data management tools for text, such as Airtable, are appreciated. Ability to generate charts, plots, and manage data using dashboards, such as R or Tableau, is a plus.
