About the role:
The Fostering service supports a range of homes including a growing cohort of Connected Persons and Special Guardians who require a bespoke and creative support network. The Team Manager will manage a case load of assessing and supervising social workers in both the Connected Carers Team and the SGO Team, together with several support workers and admin staff.
The Team Manager will also be responsible for quality assuring panel documentation and maintaining compliance in association with the Data Quality Co-ordinators. You will need extensive knowledge and experience in the field of child care social work, knowledge of fostering regulations, experience of supervising, and line managing staff.
The overall purpose of the Team Manager role is to ensure the work of the team is focused, within the policy and procedural frameworks of the council, and is consistent with the legal framework for working with children and their families. The Team Manager should ensure there is a calm and ordered approach to the work, with team members working collaboratively to improve the lives of children and young people. It is the role of the Team Manager to create these conditions in the team, whilst operationally managing the work of the team. You will need a degree in Social Work and a management qualification. (This is a requirement of SCW). You will also need to be registered with Social Care Wales.

* Provide solid leadership and managerial skills to the team
* Provide expert guidance and advice to the wider service around Connected Carers assessments and SGOs
* Support the service in achieving positive outcomes for those children placed with Connected and SGO carers.
* Provide high quality, reflective supervision to the team
* Advocate for children and young people to achieve their potential
