The Role Reporting directly to the Head of Fleet, the purpose of the HGV Driver is to ensure deliveries and collections of catering equipment, portable kitchens and modular buildings are completed in full. Following the PKL Safe Working Practices and Risk Assessments as well as adhering to the current rules and regulations set out by law. Key responsibilities include: Ensure the correct and thorough completion of all delivery and collection of paperwork. Ensure vehicles are kept clean externally and internally. Always adhere to tachograph rules and regulations. Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with Company procedure and ensure that any defect preventing the safe and legal operation is repaired immediately and before the start of a shift. Ensure proof of delivery (PODs) and lifting plans are completed, signed, and returned after delivery or collection. Make sure all loose items are delivered and collected as per the loose item sheet, make clients aware of any missing items while on site and inform the Fleet Team as soon as reasonably practicable. Ensure regular communication with the Transport Team. Complete a handover procedure with clients and customers, unstrapping equipment and setting out equipment for client handover. Delivering a high level of customer service to our customers, maintaining, and enhancing the company reputation. Immediately report any problems regarding arrival times, delays, or discrepancies with loads to Fleet Planning. Supporting the Warehouse team if required. Attending training courses if required. Qualifications Skills & Experience Valid and clean driving licence (Minimum Class 1) Aged 21 years or older Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Collaborative approach to team working Reliability Desirable Experience in multidrop or logistic deliveries Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
