Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Coordination: Direct and manage on-site construction activities, leading a team of site managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
* Programme Management: Oversee the construction programme to ensure milestones are met, and adjust strategies as needed.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with project stakeholders, including the project manager, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Champion a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Quality Control: Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
* Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve challenges to minimize delays and maintain progress.
* Reporting: Provide detailed updates on progress, risks, and resource allocation to senior management.
Requirements
* Extensive experience as a Senior Construction Manager or similar leadership role on high-rise or large-scale projects.
* Proven track record in managing the construction of residential or student accommodation developments.
* Strong knowledge of UK construction regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
* Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to manage complex project logistics and resolve challenges in a high-pressure environment.
* Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
* Relevant qualifications in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. SMSTS certification is required.
