The NHS trust voted the best to work for anywhere in the Midlands by its own staff is looking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors and one Associate Non-Executive Director to help continue to lead its improvement journey.
Sherwood Forest Hospitals, which serves 350,000 patients in the Mid-Nottinghamshire area, employs more than 5,000 people and hosts more than 380 volunteers across its King’s Mill, Mansfield Community and Newark Hospital sites.
The Trust is rated ‘Outstanding’ for ‘Care’ by the Care Quality Commission, with its maternity services rated ‘Good’ and its
King’s Mill Hospital remaining the only ‘Outstanding’ NHS-run acute hospital anywhere in the Midlands.
Sherwood has also proudly been named as the best NHS Trust to work for anywhere in the East and West Midlands by the Trust’s own staff every year since 2018 in theNHS National Staff Survey.
Planned recruitment timeline
The Trust is looking to appoint to all three roles as soon as possible, with the intended timelines for recruitment set out below:
• Applications close: Monday 18 November 2024
• Issue of invitations to interview: Week commencing 2 December 2024
• Interviews: Thursday 12 and Friday 13 December 2024
Following some changes onits Board of Directors, the Trust is looking to appoint to three vital roles to help lead the Trust’s continuing improvement journey and help support the delivery of theTrust’s five-year Improving Lives strategy.
The Trust is looking to appoint to two Non-Executive Director roles advertised here. These roles are as follows:
• One financially qualified Non-Executive Director with board-level strategic financial leadership experience, drawn from a track record working in complex highly regulated sector(s).
• One clinically qualified Non-Executive Director with extensive experience in primary care, secondary care, public health or social care to join the Trust’s Quality Committee.
