Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our new DP World Air & Ocean, Freight Forwarding Division for an experienced Credit Controller. This role will report into the Lead Credit Controller EMEA - with the aim of strengthening our Finance & Controlling team by supporting with our Ireland Freight Portfolio.
Our successful candidate will be a knowledgeable Credit controller with excellent telephone manor and high volume customer experience. We are looking for someone with excellent eye for detail who can build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Location: Stanford le Hope, Essex
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
Contract: Permanent
How you will contribute:
* Daily collection calls regarding unpaid bill account balances
* Documenting daily collections activity
* Analysing accounts to determine risk.
* Creating and maintaining credit history files
* Reviewing new customers and assessing credit terms and monthly credit limits
* Analysing and assessing the creditworthiness of accounts and clients using external credit risk management tools and reports.
* Researching accounts disputes and billing discrepancies
* Performing account and payment reconciliations
* Responding to credit inquiries from external and internal clients
* Identifying bad debt or financial exposure
* Liaising with customers ensuring payments received on a timely basis.
* Liaising with local Operations & our shared service centre to solve customer queries.
* Obtaining and reviewing remits for allocations of customer receipts
* Producing weekly customer aging reports and presenting to management
* Attention to detail.
What you will bring
EXPERIENCE
* Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an operationally focused Credit control role
* Excellent communication skills and a track record in building relationships as you will be liaising with both internal and external personnel at all levels
Definite asset:
* Experience of SAP & Oracle are desirable (not essential)
* Experience of working within Freight Forwarding is an advantage
