Acorn by Synergie is seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Project Engineer to join our client's team in delivering a large-scale electric arc furnace project in Port Talbot.
Project Overview
This is a high-profile £1.25bn industrial project aimed at modernizing and enhancing steel production capabilities, requiring a professional with a strong background in civil engineering, industrial construction, and project management.
Responsibilities
As a Project Engineer, you will:
1. Create project plans and proposals that will support and improve our business.
2. Oversee all stages of assigned projects from initial concept through execution to final acceptance, ensuring all work meets relevant standards and guidelines from a design, safety, and environmental standpoint.
3. Draft technical specifications and requests for quotations from OEMs and contractor partners.
4. Oversee project engineering activities to ensure timely completion within budget, safely and to the designed standard.
5. Problem-solve and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
The Project Engineer will hold a strong background within the Heavy Industry sector.
1. A degree in Engineering and Chartered Engineer status is desirable but not essential.
2. A solid understanding of project management techniques, risk assessment, and safety study methods is ideal.
3. Excellent communication skills are crucial, as you will represent the business externally and act as a company ambassador.
4. A high level of engineering competency in Electrical disciplines is expected.
5. Excellent time management, problem-solving, and analytical abilities are required.
