Do you hold a Plant 01 competence? Do you hold Dist Level A and/or Dist Level B? Are you happy travelling to other Network Rail sites along with possible overnight stays (company funded)? If yes, this role is for you!
Network Rail are looking for a Senior Trainer to join the team which is based at Paddock Wood Training Centre. This is a permanent opportunity with a salary of £46,701- £59,545 per annum (Band 3B). This role closes on Friday 11th April - late applications will not be accepted.
Please note: before applying the following skills and experience are what we are ideally looking for:
1. Plant 01 (or the ability to hold i.e. completed C&G 2382 and C&G 2365)
2. Dist Level A Or Dist Level B
3. Must have experience working within the Distribution and Plant environment 5 years
4. Be able to work Power point
5. Be able to pass on skills and knowledge
As a Senior Trainer, you will be at the forefront of delivering high-quality, value-driven training programs along with working with various trainers and training schools to improve abilities and equipment usage to Network Rails workforce nationwide.
6. You will be the expert in complex areas: Utilise your subject matter expertise in railway engineering, safety, or operations to deliver comprehensive training programs.
7. You will upskill lead trainers: Coach and mentor other trainers, enhancing their skills and knowledge to maintain high training standards.
8. You will have a national impact: Meeting the training needs of various routes and regions, ensuring consistent and effective training delivery across the network.
About the role (External)
What does a Senior Trainer role entail day to day?
9. Setting the benchmark for excellence in the delivery of inspirational technical, safety and behavioural training, assessment, coaching, and mentoring activities.
10. Driving the optimisation of training by using a diverse range of delivery methods including face to face, virtual and digital solutions.
11. Being an expert in the training and behavioural development of the most complex railway engineering or operational areas of competence. Lead, develop and deliver programmes of up-skilling and mentoring of trainers and other industry partners to meet the needs of both current and future skills requirements.

13. Actively foster a safety-first, “No-Unsafe-Acts” culture within employees and actively promote the Network Rail Values at every touch point.

16. Support the development of apprentices including undergoing relevant safeguarding checks, supporting the assessment of their NVQ’s, task books and work-based learning, and provide the additional technical and support sessions required.
17. Evaluate and revise training by enhancing the learner journey including improvements to trainer capability levels, materials, assessment, aids and equipment and the wider training environment. Be Network Rail Training’s representative at capability development groups and skills forums leading on the development of specific competence areas.
18. Enhance training venues, including satellites and local facilities, refining internal quality procedures, external inspections, and work instructions, demonstrating a personal commitment to continuous improvement. Lead the Training Centre’s ownership of safety for training assets within the area of expertise.
19. Deputise for the Training Delivery Manager, as a Network Rail Manager, always actively support, promote, and enforce company processes, initiatives, messages, policies, whilst actively demonstrating managerial behaviours and values.
