The post will suit an individual looking for an opportunity to develop their career within a fast-paced organisation at the cutting edge of off highway vehicle design and development. You will play a key role in optimising Vehicle Thermal Management Systems for next-generation Diesel, Hydrogen, Battery Electric and Fuel Cell Electric vehicles, working in a highly collaborative and technically advanced environment. What does this role involve day to day? You will be responsible for supporting technical reviews and governance of machine thermal system sign off for all projects worldwide You will support product design engineers & purchasing teams, to simulate, design & develop cooling system to ensure effective thermal management for the given machine. Support Quality, Manufacturing & Purchasing teams to resolve production / supply chain challenges Lead Thermal System 1D model development and validation work streams for each vehicle build phase, to ensure Thermal System performance meets attribute and system level requirements. Collaborate with CFD Engineers to ensure robust 1D model inputs and support Heat Exchanger optimization activities. Collaborate with Thermal System Test & Integration Engineers to correlate 1D models with physical test data. This will be suited to you if Have a degree qualification in an automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar engineering discipline. You have good knowledge and understanding of thermodynamic principals. Good understanding of the physics behind thermal systems / refrigerant systems / HVAC systems. Experience of automotive / rail / off highway vehicle engineering thermal management systems Have a desire to invent the future by developing innovative products with specific focus around improving machine efficiency. Have a positive can-do attitude and ability to drive projects forward Develop design briefs / design concepts - solutions / validations plans & delivery plans What happens next?
