Logistics Coordinator (Part time)
We are working with a very successful food manufacturing business located in Portadown to recruit for a Logistics Coordinator to join their thriving business. The job is part time 9am – 2pm Monday – Friday and permanent.
As the Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the movement of goods from inbound deliveries to goods out. You will be working with various carrier companies, clearing agents, Port Health & HMRC Customs, scheduling collections, liaising with customers, negotiating on rates, and producing relevant transport documentation.
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for:
1. Negotiate shipping and co-ordinate haulage for bulk ingredients arriving by sea, road, and air.
2. Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of freight services, ensuring seamless and efficient logistical processes.
3. Book in deliveries with customers, working to their specific requirements.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for freight, addressing enquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on shipment status.
5. Manage and coordinate all aspects of freight operations, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation of shipments.
6. Liaise with carriers, clearing agents, and other third-party service providers to ensure timely and safe delivery of goods.
7. Ensure documentation is correct and that all logistics activities adhere to local, national, and international transportation regulations, including customs and import/export compliance.
8. Prepare necessary paperwork and complete declarations within Trader Support Service (TSS) for goods moving from GB.
What you will need to have for the Logistics Coordinator role:
1. Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent including English and Maths.
2. Previous experience within a similar Logistics or Transport role.
3. Experience with MS Office and Excel.
4. Good telephone and communication skills.
5. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
6. Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
7. Experience of Trader Support Service would be an advantage.
8. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
