CONTRACTS AND CONFIRMATION ANALYST
LONDON BASED - HYBRID WORKING
UP TO £65,000 PLUS BONUS AND BENS
My client are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in contracts, specifically within physical oil trading. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving improvements in contract management processes, helping to build a stable, high-quality, and control-focused contracts and Confirmations desk.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure accurate trade reconciliation within the system of record, verifying alignment with all supporting documentation.
2. Review counterparty contracts, addressing any discrepancies with internal stakeholders, focusing on purchase agreements for bulk cargo transactions.
3. Proactively follow up with counterparties and issue purchase confirmations when contracts are not received on time.
4. Manage the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring agreements are processed through to completion.
5. Identify potential risks related to contract terms and General Terms & Conditions (GT&Cs), implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
6. Oversee the confirmation process for marine bunker deals, including data gathering from multiple communication channels, thorough verification, trade entry validation in the system, and documentation uploads.
7. Maintain a thorough audit trail and adhere to best practices for document management, ensuring accurate electronic tracking and logging of contracts and related correspondence.
8. Implement best practices for contract management at key control points.
9. Proactively identify and address potential issues, monitoring developments and escalating concerns when necessary.
10. Assist in the review of General Terms & Conditions (GT&Cs).
11. Identify process inefficiencies and support the implementation of system and workflow improvements.
12. Contribute to risk management initiatives and encourage collaboration across functions.
13. Enhance team effectiveness by sharing knowledge, skills, and responsibilities, and working closely with colleagues.
14. Support special projects as needed.
