A Junior Policy Officer is needed to join a major trade association for the UK automotive industry, on a 1 YEAR, FULL TIME PLACEMENT with a flexible start date around September 2024 depending on the availability of the candidate. Our client, a key player in the UK automotive industry, represents companies involved in the design, manufacture, sale, and aftercare of motor vehicles and components. They advocate for the industry, offer extensive market data and research, and organise influential events. They are now seeking a talented recent graduate with a keen interest in public affairs, politics, and economics to join their dynamic team.
Joining the Public Policy & Vehicle Legislation Department, the Junior Policy Officer will support key tasks such as researching critical political and industry issues, analysing key government announcements, and producing impactful reports and briefings. You’ll attend high-profile stakeholder events, building valuable connections. This dynamic role includes shadowing policy matters, assisting Automotive Council working groups, and collaborating across departments, ensuring your contributions shape the future of the automotive sector.
To qualify…
* You are a recent Undergraduate with a relevant degree (for example, Politics, International Relations, Economics, Law, History) and an interest in public affairs, politics, and economics.
* YOU HAVE NO RELEVANT PREVIOUS OFFICE EXPERIENCE.
* Evidence of clear, concise, and engaging written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience of researching political and/or economic information for inclusion within reports.
* Good time management, an understanding of workload planning and the ability to meet deadlines.
* You are enthusiastic and willing to learn, motivated by new challenges and the development of personal, professional, and interpersonal skills.
* You are interested in and have knowledge of government and parliamentary processes in the UK and Europe.
