Full and Part Time Hours Considered
Are you looking for a new opportunity, where you can help make a positive difference in someone’s life, while gaining satisfaction from your work?
We are seeking support workers to come and join our team at The Chestnuts, a residential service in Yate, providing support to six very different individuals who, on occasions, can find life challenging.
As part of your role, you will be expected to work in a person-centred and individualised way; helping and encouraging the people we support to participate in activities and to keep in contact with family and be part of the local community.
Are you creative and do you have the ability to anticipate the support needs of the people in our care? There is an expectation to engage people and encourage activities such as long walks, going for drives, and day trips.
We are seeking a Support Worker who is enthusiastic, enjoys being with people, and has a sense of fun. Your role will include supporting the people with their medication, organising menus, shopping, and helping/encouraging them to cook meals.
It is important for the people living at The Chestnuts to have support to access their local community.
The successful Support Worker will be mature, able to work alone, and use your own initiative. You will have a good level of self-awareness, be keen to learn, and manage tricky situations with calmness and sensitivity. Flexibility is essential, and shift times are 07:00-14:30, 14:00-21:30, and may include waking nights. Long days can be considered.
In return, we offer excellent, high-quality learning opportunities, including the opportunity to undertake a level 3 or 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Other benefits include:
* 30 days Annual Leave Entitlement
* Get paid when you want – Access your money as you earn it and request your earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet.
* Access to an Employee Discount Platform from Day 1, with discounts and cash back for hundreds of retailers.
* Refer a Friend Scheme earning you up to £750
* Company pension scheme, to help grow your retirement pot
* Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
* Learning and development opportunities for you to build your career
* Health Cash Plan on completion of probation giving you access to a minimum of £695 cash back for health treatments e.g. Dental, Therapies, Optical, Maternity/Paternity, NHS Prescriptions etc.
We pride ourselves on being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within Milestones Trust.
