We are looking for a skilled and motivated Shift Lead to join our team at the Canvey Island Terminal. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and coordinate all terminal operations during your shift, leading a team of Terminal Technicians, contractors, and security personnel. Your focus will be on ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the terminal while maintaining high performance standards. Additionally, you will act as the Incident Controller in emergency situations, demonstrating strong leadership and decision-making abilities., + Supervise terminal operations, including LPG storage, marine jetty activities, pressure systems, cryogenic plant, and utility systems.
+ Lead your team to uphold safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
+ Manage the Permit to Work system, guaranteeing safe practices for all activities on-site.
+ Monitor and control stock inventories to align with business needs and scheduling demands.
+ Provide effective leadership, coaching, and development for your shift team to ensure competency and high performance.
+ Act as the Incident Controller during emergencies, coordinating on-site responses and liaising with emergency services.
+ Oversee contractor activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and performance standards.
+ Maintain accurate records for operational, maintenance, and regulatory reporting.
+ Experience working with plant operations and control systems such as SCADA or DCS.
+ Knowledge of LPG, cryogenic systems, or a relevant engineering discipline.
+ Familiarity with COMAH site regulations, safety practices, and emergency response.
