Are you an experienced Clinical Coder looking to work in a fun and fast-paced environment?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Primary Care 24 (PC24) as a Senior Clinical Coder on a 6-month fixed term contract.
As a PC24 Senior Clinical Coder, you will be required to summarise and read code relevant information from patient’s clinical records, hospital correspondence, and other sources into EMIS Web, working strictly in accordance with the practice protocols. This could include complex conditions and treatments, ensuring you offer patients an accurate and consistent clinical coding service using a variety of different systems.
Key responsibilities
1. Process all correspondence received, in both digital and paper formats in an accurate, efficient manner including scanning onto the correct record and appropriately coded.
2. Manage the practice mailbox ensuring all emails are responded to.
3. Ensure that any required actions following receipt of correspondence are dealt with in a timely manner.
4. Undertake clinical documentation reading and assist in workflow optimisation.
5. Manage new patient registrations.
6. Support the Clinical team with processing referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS).
7. Maintain the referrals database ensuring that any rejected referrals are actioned immediately.
About you
1. Experience of using EMIS and Blinx PACO.
2. Knowledge of clinical coding and GP workflow protocols.
3. Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with a wide variety of people.
4. Previous experience in a similar role.
5. Good working knowledge of medical terminology.
6. Educated to GCSE Level C in literacy and numeracy or equivalent work-based experience.
7. Patient focused, ability to show patience, empathy, and compassion via telephone.
What’s on offer?
1. 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.
2. 37.5 hours per week (08:00-16:00 or 10:30-18:30).
3. £26,136 per annum.
4. Located on Sefton Street, Litherland.
