Job highlights Full time London, Greater London, United Kingdom Compliance Job ID R200000714 Closing date Never Last Updated 18/11/2024 Summary The role of the Compliance Officer will be split across Glencore’s Oil Marketing and Assets division (incl. oil, gas and power) and will be split between generalist compliance work as well as supporting the Head of Oil Compliance and the other members of the global oil compliance team with managing remedial actions and document requests in response to the FCPA Monitor recommendations. This role will form part of the Glencore Group (Oil) Compliance team and will report into the Head of Oil Compliance, with additional reporting lines to the Senior Compliance Transformation and Changes Manager, as well as the Senior Compliance Officer (Oil Assets). In detail, the position encompasses duties and responsibilities as follows: Per above, support the Head of Oil Compliance and the Senior Compliance Transformation and Changes Manager with managing remedial actions in response to the FCPA Monitor recommendations, engaging senior stakeholders in Group Compliance as well as the Oil Department Work closely with the Head of Oil Compliance on general compliance matters – including day to day / BAU activities related to the proper implementation of the Glencore Compliance Programme in our offices, assets and join ventures Support colleagues in the Oil Marketing and Assets teams on a range of Compliance projects. Act as an advisor to the business; including our front office staff Assist in the preparation of Compliance reports and presentations, including collating and preparing management information Assist in driving compliance (as far as possible) in the joint venture that Glencore participates in. Assist in the administration and review of quarterly certifications, which may include sensitive information relating to conduct The ideal candidate disposes of: Educated to degree level 5-8 years experience, either as a lawyer, forensic accountant or inhouse compliance professional Experience of working within commodities is desirable Experience of working within a regulated environment Fluent in English (any additional languages beneficial) Knowledge of regulatory landscape in relation to a trading business and direct experience with EMIR, Dodd-Frank, MAS and similar regulations is desirable Skills: Is self-motivated, enthusiastic, pro-active and a team player has an independent and flexible work attitude and is able to work well under pressure has a problem-solving mind-set has very good written and verbal communication skills advanced computer literacy (primarily MS Office)
