As a Quality Control Inspector, you’ll play a vital role in monitoring safety, compliance, and quality across materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. You’ll perform part inspections using precision instruments to ensure our processes meet rigorous standards, capturing and resolving quality issues efficiently to support our overall strategy while reducing costs associated with poor quality.

Responsibilities
* Undertake inspection related requirements with the following pieces of equipment: FARO, handheld measurements, veneers, square, bevel protractor, bore mics, slips, feeler gauges, radius gauges, surface tables and v blocks, surface roughness testiness, DFT gauge, paint adhesion test, gloss level meter, height gauge.
* Demonstrate ability to set up and calibrate the following; DFT, roughness surface tester, gloss meter, height gauge.
* Ability to populate FAIR’s in line with manufacturing due dates as well as obtaining information required for population.
* Demonstrate knowledge and application of quality approach to corrections and amendments.
* Raise NCR’s with fault details whilst undertaking containment action and identify corrective actions.
* Raise remake/reworks cards for parts that do not require engineering or planning changes.
* Complete RCCA investigation where appropriate and assist with the closing out of NCR’s.
* Understand and demonstrate correct quarantine procedures.
* Review calibration register to manage external calibration requirements.
* Undertake internal calibration requirements.
* Raise concessions when requested.
* Check and authorise final product release certification against order requirements.
* Ensure document packs are collected and correct.
* Participate and contribute to internal audits.
* Apply knowledge and competent use of E2i functions where applicable.
* Verify material/process execution by tracing material and subcontract release certificates to the route card. Ensuring certificates align with customer/contractual requirements, while identifying and cross-referencing anomalies to alternative specifications or processes for compliance.
* Roaming inspection to be carried out daily, covering various departments throughout Gore Cross and Pymore.
* Undertake first off inspection in a collaborative, constructive and efficient manner balancing commercial and operational considerations.
* Proactively assist with the circulation, progression and identification of parts held within inspection.
* Assist with actively reducing time on shelf.
* Monitor proactively safety, compliance and quality issues relating to materials, WIP and finished goods in production and stores to ensure standards are met through the correct implementation of the company’s quality system.
* Whilst undertaking roaming inspection support in identifying improvements to manufacturing processes.
* Suggest improvements to quality policies, procedures and processes where applicable.
* Respond to operators in line with scheduling requirements on quality concerns/questions.
* Actively increase product knowledge.
* Highlight and escalate any deviation from accreditation and compliance requirements.
* Identify and action where applicable health and safety concerns and/or suggestions for self and others.
Requirements
* Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
* Good knowledge and experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings.
* Sound knowledge of complex assembly, welding, sheet metal fabrication & associated manufacturing processes.
* Ability to work under own initiative with good organisational skills.
* Willingness to learn and develop.
* Audit trained or experience in auditing.
* FARO arm trained Previous quality experience within an ISO 9001 or AS9100 environment.
