The Cambridge Science Centre (CSC) has a hugely exciting vision which is “a future where all young people can enjoy, explore and shape a better world through STEM”.
This is a pivotal time for CSC, having recently opened a new immersive hands-on science centre on the Cambridge Science Park which is expected to attract around 50,000 visitors per annum. It is ideally located to build on the unrivalled scientific heritage of Cambridge and is enriched by the vibrant technology and life science industries on its doorstep.
It has a range of outreach programmes across the East of England region, which includes some of the most deprived areas of the country in terms of education, skills and training. Over the coming years, it aims to continue growing its impact and influence throughout the region.
Position Overview
A new CEO is sought to take over from the current incumbent. Working with a highly engaged board and a deeply committed team, the appointee has the opportunity to continue the trajectory of the organisation and increase and deepen its impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Represent the charity and promote its vision, mission, values and work to key stakeholders, partners, and the wider general public.
2. Identify opportunities for growth, business development, and diversification to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the organisation.
3. Provide the public face for campaigns and build deep relationships with stakeholders in business, politics, and the media.
4. Work closely with the Senior Leadership team in motivating and engaging volunteers, beneficiaries, and prospective donors.
