Location: This role provides remote and flexible working as well as working within the Council Offices, subject to business need.

Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Grants Officer to join our thriving team here in Maldon. Your role will coordinate and manage grant funding requests and create grant frameworks that will help us best meet the needs of local people and communities. You will be working across our organisation to ensure that we target our grant funding activities to meet our Corporate Plan priorities. You will also be supporting a variety of external stakeholders including grant recipients and project leads.
About this role
What you’ll do:
1. Manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making.
2. Be responsible for supporting local people and communities, therefore have a strong understanding of the Council’s Corporate Plan priorities.
3. Support our stakeholders, helping them to make connections that will help them achieve their goals.
4. Be responsible for the pipeline of projects, therefore need to understand and respond to the different needs of our customers by providing support and considered feedback and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations.
5. Ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the funds knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
6. Manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify, and manage risk and support organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.
7. Work within the funds policies, procedures and the necessary legislation, in a way that is in line with the Council’s policies and procedures.
8. Work with stakeholders at different levels, be able to travel and represent the funds within the local area and create opportunities for people to come together.
9. Share learning from your conversations, events, and evaluations with other colleagues so that we can maximise our impact.
