About The Role

As a leading environmental consultancy, APEM’s organic growth and international expansion through acquisition has created an exciting opportunity for a Group Financial Controller for a period of at least 12 months. In this pivotal role, you will oversee, review and enhance all finance operations for APEM Group. Your recommendations will help to ensure the finance function can support our ambitious plans, with a focus on international growth. You will be integral in creating a culture of continuous improvement, empowering our team, and driving financial integrity across the business.
Reporting to the Group CFO you’ll join a senior leadership team dedicated to innovation, and you’ll help shape strategic decisions from M&A activities to capital investments. We’re seeking a collaborative leader who can provide reliable guidance and who has a history of identifying opportunities for improvement in finance functions. We are looking for applications that demonstrate:
* Strong expertise in managing global finance operations within a high-growth environment.
* Experience in driving process improvements and establishing efficient, robust controls.
* Strategic thinking and the ability to make impactful recommendations at a board level.
* Leadership experience in building and developing a finance team in a global setting.
* Technical proficiency in accounting, tax, treasury, and regulatory reporting.
This role is for an interim period of 12 months, ideally via a fixed term contract. Day rate (inside IR35) may be considered for the right individual.
APEM operate a remote first culture and therefore we are open to applications from UK residents. However, the finance operations team are based near Manchester; therefore, it would be expected you would be present in Manchester between 2 to 4 times a month.
