As a Shift Supervisor, you will support the Shift Manager in ensuring the handling and dispatch of all customer products is achieved to optimum levels of cost and efficiency through the effective supervision and control of all staff and resources. It will also be your responsibility to maintain the highest levels of safety, welfare, and security within all areas of the warehouse shift activity.
Working hours: Continental Nights Pattern; 6pm-6am
Example of your working days on two weeks rotation:
Week 1: Monday & Tuesday & Saturday & Sunday
Key Duties of a Shift Supervisor include, but are not limited to:
o Managing a team of warehouse workers and carrying out regular 1-2-1s and reviews with your team, including disciplinaries, performance reviews, etc.
o Ensuring all areas of responsibility are staffed commensurate to the achievement of scheduled and planned tasks and peak volume associated activity in line with optimum service and cost efficiencies.
o Providing coaching to staff where necessary to support personal improvement or development.
o Providing first line investigations into Health and Safety incidents.
o Supporting and guiding staff's knowledge and awareness relative to operational requirements.
o Ensuring all products are received into the warehouse within client expectations and SLAs, and these are available for the ongoing operations in the appropriate condition.
o Ensuring the handling of all products is carried out to the highest standards of Health and Safety, applying best practice to the protection and packaging of Client orders.
o Ensuring adequate supplies of consumable and packaging products are available to meet all client order dispatch requirements.
o Maintaining accurate records of all receipt, issue, usage, and holding of consumable packaging and materials.
o Ensuring all processes, daily checks, defect reporting, training, and operations of MHE are conducted in line with both company and legislative Health and Safety requirements.
o Supporting the commercial objectives of the business through a process of continual review and operational appraisal.
Minimum Requirements:
o Proven operational and management experience from within a similar operation.
o Previous experience of supervising large teams, including performance management and disciplinaries.
o Strong working knowledge within the Warehouse and Logistics industry, with a strong understanding of health and safety.
o Computer literate with strong attention to detail, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Warehouse Management Systems.
o Strong communication skills with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
o Ability to effectively prioritize workload in order to meet set deadlines.
o Proactive with the ability to make decisions.
