This key Commercial Finance role is at the forefront of Asda’s new Technology function post separation from Walmart. The role encompasses Finance Business Partnering of Technology teams, as well as the wider Technology Leadership team. The role is at the heart of making key decisions and helping the business on its journey to deploy all its own systems and processes. About the role: This Commercial Finance Manager role supports the delivery of Asda’s Technology function through strong business partnering, financial control, forecasting accuracy, vendor/programme management and governance support As a Commercial Finance Manager you will directly business partner 6 Technology Senior Directors to support critical investment / programme decisions, providing key insight and commercial context. The new Technology function will be established completing full separation from Walmart, including working with a group of core vendors to design, build and deploy our new systems to run every part of the organisation and implement new processes to run the business across all functions. Your Role: This role leads the business partnering, P&L and Capital management and forecasting for all of Asda’s new Technology function You will be required to challenge performance and work closely with key finance / programme stakeholders to improve accuracy to support better decision making You will play a key support role in the investment approval process, by liaising and challenging teams to produce high quality investment papers that maximise commercial performance and support the approval governance at the exec level, providing exposure to senior board members The successful candidate will work with stakeholders across the Technology function such as the Transformation Office, Technology Teams and People Teams alongside other Asda teams such as Legal and the wider Finance team. You will be responsible for challenging senior stakeholders to prioritise and control spend / resources, through regular commercial finance reviews with the Technology leads and escalating the key commercial decisions, risks and opportunities You will work with the Technology functions to understand, quantify and drive the realisation of the commercial benefits from landing the new systems, processes and operating models within the business. "Let's find out about you" Strong commercial skill set and critical thinking, with the ability to evaluate commercial performance, identify risks and opportunities and support clear and robust plans. Strong organisational skills to lead the commercial finance agenda across multiple programmes, including the forecast process, driving efficiencies and improving financial control.
