Providing senior professional clinical leadership, the post holder is responsible for supporting the Service Delivery Groups (SDG) Operational Management Team to ensure services meet fundamental standards as determined by Care Quality Commission.
Working closely with the SDG management and leadership teams the post holder will ensure efficient and effective management of all resources in order to deliver safe and effective patient care in an environment of continuous improvement.
The post holder will support the SDG Management Teams and other members of the Quality Team ensuring the achievement of operational and strategic quality objectives within their area of responsibility, with particular emphasis on the quality of care through ensuring services are safe, effective and service user experience is high.
The post holder is expected to work an agreed number of clinical hours across each month delivering direct patient care in order to maintain professional competence, authority and credibility.

Main duties of the job
1. To work with the operational clinical leaders across the services to support the Trust's quality agenda.
2. To support implementation and embedding quality initiatives, protocols and policies to support delivery of high quality patient care agreed to support the delivery of the quality agenda for the organisation.
3. Provide professional clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality, effective, compassionate and evidence based patient care.
4. To work collaboratively with the SDG Management teams to ensure effective management of clinical services.
5. To ensure that appropriate systems, work processes and protocols are in place to enable delivery of high quality, safe patient services in line with contemporary evidence based practice and within available resources.
6. To support a culture of learning and continuous improvement supporting the clinical leaders in creating opportunities for education, development, teaching and supervision of nursing and other staff and students.
7. To participate in the Trust senior manager on call rota.

Training and Qualifications
* Degree level education
* Mandatory registration NMC/HCPC
* Quality Improvement Qualification
Experience
* Demonstrable post-registration experience at a senior grade
* Evidence of experience working collaboratively with other disciplines/agencies and system partners
* An understanding of systems in health and social care that are wider than their immediate role
* Experience of managing/ investigating patient safety incidents
* Have evidence of leadership of some aspects of a service development and quality improvement
* Able to plan proactively, manage and evaluate their own learning, to negotiable learning opportunities, establish learning contracts
Knowledge and skills
* Able to balance service and educational demands; good time management
* Understanding the principles of governance, particularly in relation to their service area.
