The Corporate Health division of HCML is a market leading, innovative, integrated health solution provider. We have a dynamic, proactive multi-disciplinary team that is always striving to truly make a difference. We provide bespoke health solutions to our clients including absence management, healthcare plan administration, psychological careline and health and wellbeing offerings. We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health nurse to join our team, to provide clinical support to the team and support the delivery of health surveillance programmes.
To support delivery of Occupational Health expertise across all clinical service channels with clinical advice and information on cases and achieve the objective of the case across all service channels through effective leading, coaching, audit, training, and development of all Corporate Health colleagues, whilst undertaking own personal workload where required.
To deliver complex case management and or clinical advice through the identification of possible reasons for ill health or injury.
To provide advice, recommendations, and evidence-based treatment to address the presenting problem/s and solutions to address any underlying issues. Consider the most appropriate intervention needed to reduce the risk of an employee being absent from work and the need for the employee to undertake modified duties.
Supervise technicians delivering customer health surveillance programs ensuring compliance with legal and best practice requirements.
Principle objectives and responsibilities
* Deliver clinical and occupational advice on cases
* Deliver complex case management where appropriate to an excellent standard
* Provide case reviews on clinical conditions, occupational factors and advise appropriately
* Able to coach, develop and train colleagues in area of expertise
* Demonstrate consistently high standards in own case work and support of colleagues across all service channels
* Keep abreast of any changes in Occupational Health legislation and ensure relevant policies and processes are reviewed and updated accordingly
* To take the lead and ensure all colleagues understand the underlying principles of Occupational Health to support excellent delivery when dealing with customers
* Work collaboratively with all managers to ensure all teams are up to speed with current best practice, whilst maintaining a high level of self-driven CPD and ensuring revalidation to maintain NMC registration
* Able to self-drive on personal development and identify opportunities with Director of Clinical Governance
* To undertake any other task as may be reasonably required by the company
Clinical Audit
* Ensures all relevant clinical scrutiny and auditing is conducted, any shortfalls recorded, and actions undertaken
* Report back trends from auditing and plans to reduce risks

* Previous experience within Occupational Health and Case Management and able to deliver in all service channels with sound understanding of operational integration
* Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience, Qualifications and Training
* NMC Level one registration.
* Minimum 5 years general nursing experience.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience as an OHNA.
* Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health or equivalent.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and relevant legislation.
* Master’s degree level education, equivalent professional certification or extensive relevant experience
* Professional memberships where required
* Experience of clinical audit.
* Experience of working with health professionals at all levels.
* Knowledge and experience of managing databases.
