We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurse to join the Nights Team on our Adult Inpatient Unit at Dougie Mac. Our team is committed to delivering person-centred care to adults and their families facing palliative, complex, life-limiting, or life-threatening conditions. You’ll work alongside more than 20 registered nurses and over 40 healthcare staff on our 26-bedded unit, providing individualised care that promotes and maintains the best quality of life for each patient. As part of the Nights Team, you’ll play a vital role in providing a calm, supportive, and safe environment during the overnight hours. You’ll ensure continuity of care, supporting short admission stays for symptom control and offering holistic care that addresses the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Key Responsibilities Deliver exceptional standards of person-centred care to patients and families during night shifts. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care programmes to meet individual needs. Provide holistic care, incorporating physical, psychological, social, and spiritual support. Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive overnight care. Maintain accurate and professional patient records in line with hospice policies and NMC guidelines. Contribute to the smooth running of the Inpatient Unit, taking charge of the nursing team during night shifts in the absence of senior staff. Participate in quality improvement and clinical audits. Engage in professional development and support training initiatives. We’re looking for someone who has: Current NMC RGN registration. A passion for palliative care, with an interest or previous experience in this field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the Nights Team. A flexible and professional approach to night shift patterns.
