We're looking for a Senior Technician to join our Design team based in Wymondham. The team are designing a wide range of building types and site redevelopments in various construction sectors such as education, retail, blue light, conservation and commercial, for a mixture of public and private clients. As a Senior Technician, you'll be working within the Civil and Structural Engineering team, supporting them in producing and checking structural engineering drawings, 3-dimensional building models, reinforcement schedules and specifications for buildings, delivering an excellent and sustainable structural engineering project service to the latest information management standards. Your day to day will include: Producing and checking coordinated structural drawings, structural design models, schedules and specifications within a quality assured, information management environment Checking and coordinating structural design information with other technical disciplines Coordinating structural engineering design information within the structural engineering team and with other technical design disciplines such as Architecture, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture and Building Services Engineering, acting as the lead Structural Technician on significant building structures design projects Mentoring other structural technicians within the team, as part of a team committed to continuing professional development Occasionally visiting sites, to conduct surveys and inspections and visiting other Kier colleagues What are we looking for? This role of Senior Technician is great for you if: You hold professional qualifications such as a bachelor's level degree in a construction related discipline, or HNC or BTEC or equivalent qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, Building or Construction Are well versed in operating REVIT, Navisworks and AutoCAD software, producing building structures models and drawings compliant with the current CDM Regulations and British and European Standards Can demonstrate experience of checking the work of other structural technicians, within a quality management system environment, along with awareness of the requirements surrounding building regulations, havea full driving licence in order to visit other sites / offices We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
