Job Purpose:
Responsible for the effective management, coordination, and implementation of the Online Retail Merchandising strategy on halfords.com and Halfords.ie, ensuring right first-time implementation of optimised range and enhancing the customer journey to deliver against commercial and customer targets.
Key measures of success will be driving Sales and NPS through product conversion and excellence in merchandising execution.
The jobholder will work closely with all functions within Digital & Customer, Marketing and Trading teams to ensure that online merchandising is maximised.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the implementation of range reviews on Online Retail maximising the sales and profit potential, aligned to commercial priorities.
2. Coach and lead a team of merchandisers to consider the customer in all decisions made.
3. Take an active role in driving the team and functional engagement action plan.
4. Manage the detailed Retail merchandising plan to maximise customer engagement and conversion.
5. Ensure that the right plan of content execution is in place to drive conversion for new range, with a focus on the customer journey and user experience whilst supporting on campaign execution across your area.
6. Form a strong working relationship with key stakeholders within digital, trading and marketing to ensure teams work seamlessly together to deliver plans and merchandising improvements.
7. Work closely with Finance, CRO and Optimisation teams to:
1. Analyse overall performance, forecasts, and opportunities.
2. Analyse sales and web metrics to make recommendations about online marketing and promotions.
3. Influence key stakeholders through compelling insights and effective presentations.
4. Ensure balanced decisions based on customer experience, common sense, and Data Analytics to improve Conversion rates, AOV and Sales.
8. Work closely with customer services to understand customer feedback and address issues and implement changes where appropriate.
9. Monitor and report on changing customer shopping behavior to drive & influence changes to online category strategies based on insights, brand strategy and e-commerce goals and initiatives.
10. Identify & respond to new competitor and market trends by highlighting competitor activity & trade opportunities (gap analysis).
11. Provide regular updates to the digital leadership team and key business stakeholders on new initiatives, data insights and key results driven off the back of changes.
12. Manage relevant partners/suppliers that are providing a service to ensure it delivers against expectations.
13. Ensure ways of working are defined, clear, understood, and consistently followed via the Safe & Sound process and Toolkits across the Merchandising team.

1. Gathers and evaluates feedback on performance on a regular basis.
2. Summarises feedback to focus on key strengths and development areas.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Experienced leader; experience in defining and delivering initiatives to improve conversion.
2. Deep understanding and experience of customer journeys.
3. Strong business acumen and good level of commercial awareness.
4. Very good stakeholder management and communication skills.
5. Able to influence teams and senior management alike.
6. Act quickly and decisively using good judgement in making decisions and performing actions.
7. Good analytical skills, awareness of key technologies and tools used for Data analysis.
8. Good at building business relationships internally and externally with partners and suppliers.
9. Ideally had some exposure to Offline Marketing.
