Job Introduction
ROLE SUMMARY
As a Mechanical & Electrical Shift Technician at Sodexo, you will be the key player responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of all plant and building services within the Golden Jubilee Wing at Kings College Hospital. Your expertise will cover a broad range of technical disciplines, from preventive maintenance to reactive repairs, all in line with established schedules and task requirements. You will be the one who responds quickly and efficiently to calls for assistance, ensuring minimal disruption to the Client’s assets. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you maintain accurate records of all tasks, including time spent, materials used, and any specialist support needed. Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the planned maintenance and operation of all plant and services, including monitoring and controlling site conditions via the BMS.
* Coordinate with specialist sub-contractors and other visiting disciplines to ensure efficient building and plant operation, minimizing disruption.
* Adhere to the company's Quality Assurance and Health & Safety procedures, ensuring all work follows industry best practices to protect client assets.
* Assist with implementing Permit to Work systems, reporting any non-compliance, and raising concerns with supervisors when necessary.
* Maintain tidy work areas, ensure waste is properly disposed of following environmental guidelines.
* Undertake small works within your skill set, provide timely responses to emergencies, and ensure optimal availability of plant and services.
* Anticipate potential issues, prioritize tasks, maintain up-to-date trade knowledge, participate in shifts, training, and performance reviews to enhance skills.
What you'll bring
Essentials
* City & Guilds / NVQ 3 certification
* Experience in building services and plant engineering
* Experience in maintenance and fault finding
* Aware of health and safety Procedures and safe systems of work
Desirable
* Previous experience within a health service environment
* Experience in water hygiene regulations
