In year two of the apprenticeship the pay increases to £25,300

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Our 3 Year Apprenticeship Programme will see you develop both technically and personally, with the majority of your first year spent at SETA training centre in Southampton completing some of the following training:
* Foundational knowledge units including General Safety and Statutory Requirements
* Specialist Electrical & Instrumentation training including:
* Electrical Wiring & Maintenance
* Programmable Logic Control
* Instrumentation & Controls
* 1 Day a week will be dedicated to the delivery of a BTEC Level 3 in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Once you’re equipped with your foundation knowledge, you’ll join us on-site for Year 2 and 3 where you’ll work alongside our teams and start gaining valuable hands-on experience and training to further your understanding and start applying what you’ve learnt. You’ll be assigned a mentor, who will oversee your development and training, offering valuable insights into career paths at Perenco.Some of your activities on-site might look like the below:
Maintenance to be completed using the company standards and procedures.
Complete scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities on the following:
* Safety Systems, Fire & Gas Systems, Flow Measurement Systems
* Pressure, Temperature and Level Control
* Gas Detection
* DCS Systems
* Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control Systems
* Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures
* Completion of Maximo work orders and ensure generation of new work requests to highlight plant and equipment failure
* Raise relevant permits within the agreed time period to ensure that maintenance is completed in an efficient manner
* Provide assistance for projects, working with vendors and sub contractors as required
* Comply with the requirements of Change Management policies eg, Plant Modifications Proposals

Your training plan
* Our Apprentices will undertake a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician, Level 3 (A level)
* This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at SETA in Southampton
You will also begin a technical certificate (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend SETA one day a week over two academic years. After your initial training at SETA, you will be working towards your End Point Assessment.

* At Perenco, we want to empower our people to the best of their abilities, so we also sponsor our apprentices to begin a Level 4 HNC specific to their trade in Year 3 following completion of the BTEC to satisfactory level

Other requirements
Our Apprentices will be based at Wytch Farm but candidates will be required to travel to SETA in Southampton every day during the first year of the Apprenticeship, and for day-release courses in the second year. Perenco will reimburse travel costs to and from SETA. Full training will be given but we expect our Apprentices to maintain our rigorous standards. Note; the normal place of work is Wareham, Dorset (postcode BH20 5JR), successful applicants must be able to travel to this location for 06:45.
