Ensure staff standard of dress and appearance promotes patient and public confidence in Infection Prevention and Control practice. Accountable for the culture of cleanliness and compliance with best practice in Infection Prevention and Control, promoting zero tolerance to avoidable infection. Negotiate service level agreement with facilities provider and monitor performance, ensuring all staff are aware of how to request additional cleaning and report non-compliance. Ensure cleaning is carried out in accordance with the trust infection control and cleaning manuals e.g MRSA policy, C.Diff policy, Norovirus policy. Ensure all nurses in charge of shifts are aware of their direct responsibility for ensuring cleaning standards are maintained throughout the shift. Ensure vascular access devices are inserted and managed according to trust guidelines and that auditing of compliance is performed in line with the requirements of the KPIs. Developing the workforce Robust management of short and long term sickness in accordance with Trust policy. Production a Radiology Department Nursing based workforce plan. Support Senior Management in the development of departmental annual education and training plans by producing a Radiology Department Nursing based training and development plan. Participate in the review of Radiology Department Nursing staffing by leading annual acuity and dependency study to reflect changing nursing workload. Support Senior Nursing team by informing curriculum development of Higher Education Institution CPD framework in line with service developments. To ensure all annual appraisals for all Radiology Department Nursing staff, setting appropriate performance objectives in line with directorate and trust objectives. Ensure a robust process for Preceptorship is in place with the relevant support. To support and assist the clinical colleagues in appropriate multidisciplinary training or education seminars for staff, within the hospital environment. Ensure an effective learning environment for all staff. Ensure effective mentorship support for students and Preceptor support for Preceptees. Clinical Governance Ensure adherence to the Clinical Governance Framework for nursing by ensuring appropriate policies, protocols and guidelines are in place to support practice. Contribute to the Radiology Departments Risk Register and making available to the Governance Team. Report, investigate and act upon complaints and Adverse Incidents in line with Care Group and Trust policies Collating themes and identification of learning points for the Radiology Department. Where there are areas of concern, ensure that these are escalated appropriately identifying a clear reason for escalation. Monitor and report clinical competency profile of staff including clinical skills and use of equipment. Ensure all staff complete mandatory training to achieve 100% compliance.
