GSL Education are seeking a motivated and creative Key Stage 1 Teacher to join a thriving primary school in Barnsley, providing an engaging and high-quality learning experience for young learners. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape children’s early educational experiences, helping them develop key skills in literacy, numeracy and social-emotional learning.
About the Role:
As a Key Stage 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that ignite curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. You will play a vital role in developing pupils’ early academic and social skills, ensuring a smooth transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Key Stage 1.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum.
* Create a nurturing and inspiring classroom environment that supports young learners’ academic, social and emotional development.
* Adapt teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs, ensuring all pupils make progress.
* Use phonics-based approaches to support early reading and literacy development.
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies, fostering a positive and respectful learning space.
* Monitor and assess pupils’ progress, providing timely feedback and tailored support.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents to enhance pupil learning.
* Encourage curiosity, creativity and independent thinking among young learners.
* Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring the well-being of all pupils.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Previous experience as a KS1 Teacher in a primary school setting.
* Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early years pedagogy.
* Excellent classroom management skills, with a nurturing and patient approach.
* A creative and adaptive teaching style, ensuring lessons are engaging and interactive.
* A commitment to continuous professional development, staying updated with best educational practices.
* A dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, in line with school policies.
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
