Job Summary: The General Manager at the The Apiary Hotel is the visionary leader behind an immersive, high-touch hospitality experience. This role curates an atmosphere where meets local culture, ensuring seamless operations, elevated guest experiences, and a dynamic team environment. With a sharp focus on brand storytelling, revenue growth, and experiential service, the General Manager drives this hotel’s success by blending operational excellence with a bold, lifestyle-forward approach.
Essential Functions and Duties:
1. Lead the charge in creating a seamless, high-energy guest experience, ensuring every touchpoint reflects The Apiary Hotel’s bold and modern brand.
2. Curate a revenue-driven strategy by analyzing market trends, leveraging dynamic pricing tools, and optimizing occupancy for maximum profitability.
3. Empower sales, front office, and reservations teams with expert training in yield management and strategic rate positioning.
4. Drive financial success by utilizing cutting-edge franchise revenue management systems (MARSHA, OnQ, Opera, IHOTELIER) to maximize RevPAR and ADR.
5. Own the hotel’s financial performance, crafting strategic budgets, forecasting shifts in expenses, and maintaining profit margins through agile expense management.
6. Oversee cash flow, payroll, and financial transactions with precision, ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency.
7. Champion guest experience by training team members in elevated service delivery and personally resolving high-profile guest concerns with finesse.
8. Turn guest feedback into action, managing satisfaction surveys and programs to drive continuous improvement and brand loyalty.
9. Attract, develop, and retain top hospitality talent, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and service-driven leadership.
10. Curate a stunning, well-maintained property, ensuring all areas reflect the hotel’s elevated aesthetic and high operational standards.
11. Forge strong partnerships with ownership and corporate teams to align with brand vision, maintain compliance, and drive long-term success.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
12. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
13. 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, with at least 5 years as a General Manager in a lifestyle or luxury hotel.
14. Deep expertise in revenue management, financial strategy, and budgeting to drive profitability in a high-touch, experience-driven environment.
15. Proficiency in property management systems and analytical tools, with strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
16. Dynamic leadership and communication skills to inspire teams, elevate guest experiences, and collaborate effectively with ownership and corporate stakeholders.
17. Proven ability to drive guest engagement and loyalty through curated experiences, personalized service, and innovative programming.
18. Strong problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making to navigate operational challenges with creativity and confidence.
19. Experience leading recruitment, training, and development programs to build high-performing, service-driven teams.
20. Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities while ensuring flawless execution of hotel operations.
Work Environment:
21. Primarily an indoor role, with frequent interaction in guest areas, front-of-house, and back-of-house departments.
22. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods while overseeing hotel operations.
23. Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 20 lbs occasionally.
24. Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
25. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings or corporate events.
