You will join a team of CBT Therapists, Counsellors and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. You will be responsible for assessing patient suitability and delivering evidenced based CBT interventions.
To apply for this role you will require to hold a BABCP accredited/working towards registration and have experience of working in Primary Care Mental Health Services for adults.
The service works core 9-5 hours but offers patient therapy between the hours of 8am-8pm Monday to Friday, and in future on Saturday mornings. We will require you to work flexibly to meet service needs within these hours. To enhance the work/life balance for our team we can offer approximately 50% office based work and 50% working remotely.
Main duties of the job
Excellent communication skills and informed clinical judgement are vital to the role. It is imperative that you can provide evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem and are able to demonstrate an understanding of how anxiety and depression present in Primary Care.
As part of this role you will be expected to:
1. Make decisions on the suitability of new referrals, identifying the most suitable service for the patient
2. Formulate, implement and evaluate individual therapy programmes for patients
3. Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients in line with the service.
4. Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate
5. Liaise with other health and social care staff from a range of agencies with a regard to referrals
6. Promote and maintain links with services across the Trust to help co-ordinate provision of an effective Psychological Therapies Service
7. Contribute to the teaching and training of mental health professionals and other staff working in the service.

Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma in CBT for working with adults) OR Equivalent A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology/ a recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or a psychological therapy plus further training which confers eligibility to apply for BABCP Accreditation. 3
