This Systems Engineering vacancy presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation.
We are seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the defence industry and expertise in systems engineering, requirements derivation, verification and validation. We are looking for an Engineer who promotes a mindset of attention to detail, communication, and collaboration within their team.
Responsibilities
* Produce detailed technical documentation, including requirements, design reports, standards, and validation plans for subsystems.
* Peer review system and subsystem documentation, customer requirements, and technical specifications.
* Identify and manage risks, recommending and implementing mitigation strategies through ARM (risk management tool).
* Support project planning, work packages, and stakeholder relationships.
* Produce monthly report on project progress.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Essential Skills
* Ability to analyse complex technical problems and generate effective solutions.
* Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts.
* Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
* MS Office Suite.
* Primavera P6.
* JIRA.
* DOORS RM.
* Matrix ALM & PLM.
* Active Risk Management (ARM).
* Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as MIL-STD.
Desired Skills
* Strong presentation skills.
* Windchill.
* VISIO.
Experience
* Extensive experience in Systems Engineering roles.
* Proven experience within the defence or aerospace industry.
* A full understanding of the complete V-lifecycle.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Strong understanding of requirement creation processes, and the ability to create project artefacts to support customer solutions.
