We have an exciting opportunity for a legal officer to join our Adult Care and Health Legal Team.
If you are looking for a varied, rewarding and exciting position within a supportive and skilled team, this role could be for you.
The role
The focus of the post is on providing legal and administrative support to a team of Lawyers in relation to a busy caseload of complex public law adult cases.
Candidates will possess a good level of communication and excellent IT skills to work proficiently in areas such as Word, Adobe Pro, Excel and be competent in the use of a legal case management system to quickly and efficiently create, review, redact and manage documentation under pressure. Candidates will need to be highly organised, flexible and focused. An ability to prioritise and to switch between tasks at short notice is essential. A strong team player is required who will be able to apply their knowledge innovatively and proactively to assist the lawyers in the team with their duties. Duties are varied but will include liaising with the courts and any parties to the court proceedings, assisting with the preparation of court bundles and evidence, and being able to attend court if required. Please do look at the post outline for more information.
Whilst the team benefits from hybrid working, at the start of any appointment the legal officer will be required to spend more time in the office to learn roles and responsibilities and to become competent in the tasks they need to complete. As the appointment progresses, there will be opportunities to have some time working from home once a level of competency has been achieved. Thereafter, there is a requirement for all members in the team to attend the office one day a week for a team day.
