Purpose of Role
We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to manage various multi-million commercial refurb projects for our Defence contract.
You must hold the Highest Level of Security Clearance or have held it in the last 6 months.
Job Description
You will be responsible for site H&S and the performance of our subcontractors on all of our sites (which are based at the same location) while monitoring schedule, issues management and liaison with the building and the project management team.
Responsibilities
1. Motivating and supervising construction workers and subcontractors
2. Monitoring build project progress
3. Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
4. Conducting quality and safety inspections
5. Working on-site with the supply chain, the client and the end users
6. Act as a focal point for the construction phase of our projects
7. Giving tool box talks to the supply chain
8. Managing the supply chain return on HSE and Environmental matters such as reporting of statistics, Close calls (near misses), etc.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
1. 5 years working for a Tier 1 contractor.
2. Previous commercial site experience.
3. Previous experience on either MoD or highly regulated sites.
4. Proven ability to manage site safety and performance.
5. SMSTS + CSCS Card Holder + First Aid (in date)
6. HSEQ Trained with either a NEBOSH or an IOSH managing safely qualification, Asbestos awareness or management, Legionella awareness or management and a recognised Temporary Works qualification (CITB)
7. Hold or have held High Level Security Clearance
8. Must be a UK Sole National and be prepared to undergo a further clearance process.
9. Exceptional communication skills as you will need to interface with clients, sub-contractors, designers and customers as well as other building occupants and military personnel.
10. Exceptional organisational skills as you will be managing multiple construction projects
11. A can-do attitude and be prepared to support the wider delivery team.
