We are seeking a confident and experienced Registered Nurse to support a gentleman with complex care needs in Sussex, BN8. About the Role: You’ll be supporting a male client in his own home who is living with a high-level Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). He is sociable, enjoys Brazilian food and culture, and communicates most comfortably in Portuguese (though he does speak English). The client has an established care team in place. As the RN, you’ll attend one day a week to complete suprapubic catheter (SPC) changes, review bowel care, provide medication oversight, assist with clinical checks, and monitor skin integrity. Your presence will help ensure safe practice, consistency, and reassurance for both the client and the team. Due to the intimate nature of the care provided, and to ensure the client’s privacy and dignity, this role is open to female nurses only. This is a genuine occupational requirement permitted under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. As the client’s nurse, you will be: Supporting one day per week – client requests a female nurse Performing SPC changes Reviewing bowel care routines Providing medication oversight Supporting skin integrity and basic clinical assessments Working alongside one of the regular carers on shift Helping ensure continuity and safety within the care setup Job Details: Job Type: One day shift per week ️ (8am – 8pm) Pay Rate: £33.50 per hour Location: Sussex, BN8 (near Lewes / Brighton) – easy parking at the property Driver: Helpful due to rural location Start Date: To be confirmed What We’re Looking For: A confident and professional female Registered Nurse with experience in complex care. You’ll be working collaboratively with the care team to offer clinical guidance, ensure catheter and medication routines are followed safely, and help maintain a high standard of care. Experience with SCI or similar conditions is helpful, and any Portuguese language skills would be a welcome bonus. Training & Support: You’ll be fully briefed on the client’s setup and preferences.
