Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities
Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities We are seeking a dynamic UK Regional Market Director for the North to drive strategic alignment and operational excellence in this key region. You will play a crucial role in leading member engagement and business development initiatives, ensuring alignment with RICS’ overarching UK objectives.
In this role, you will:
• Design and implement membership and commercial strategies suited to the Northern market, focusing on sustainable membership growth and enhancing the value proposition for our members.
• Act as the external face of RICS in the North, building strong relationships with senior leaders in member firms, government bodies, and regional policymakers to amplify RICS' influence and impact.
• Utilise your business development skills to identify and engage with relevant external stakeholders, growing RICS’ influence and business opportunities across the region.
• Identify and develop new opportunities, cultivating impactful partnerships and driving sustainable regional growth in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing regional team, fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusivity. You will ensure that every team member has the opportunity to grow and contribute to RICS' success.
• Oversee the financial performance of the region, ensuring compliance and driving commercial planning to meet regional goals.
• Work closely with internal RICS stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of all initiatives, collaborating across teams and promoting a positive and productive office culture in Edinburgh.
• Represent RICS at key industry events and forums, advocating for RICS' strategic priorities and engaging with policymakers to shape the future of the industry.
About You
About You You will bring effective leadership in managing regional teams and a proven track record of developing and executing successful strategic plans. A core aspect of your experience will be in business development, where your ability to identify opportunities and cultivate strong partnerships will be crucial in driving the growth and influence of RICS in the region.
You will also bring:
• A demonstrable background in business development with a proven ability to identify new opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and drive sustainable growth.
• Experience leading multi regional teams or departments, with a focus on people management, mentoring, and developing high performing teams. You know how to inspire and motivate teams to deliver exceptional results.
• A solid track record of developing and executing long term strategic plans that achieve growth and strengthen the organisation’s regional impact.
• Expertise in building and maintaining relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, including representing an organisation at senior levels in external forums.
• Experience in financial oversight, including managing regional budgets, ensuring compliance, and driving profitability.
• Highly developed collaboration, influencing, and communication skills. You will have the gravitas and credibility to represent RICS effectively to senior stakeholders and partners.
• Adaptability to thrive in a hybrid working model, balancing regional presence with remote work, while being within commutable distance of our Edinburgh office.
