About the role The People Advisor provides expert, relevant and timely employment advice, guidance, practical support and proactive business focussed employment solutions that are consistent with employment legislation, relevant Corserv policies and procedures, and leading-edge employment practice. The post holder will coach and support operational managers to fulfil the people management aspects of their role, enabling them to confidently deal with complex employee relations issues, as well as partnering with wider HR Colleagues to drive a comprehensive and holistic commercially-aware HR service. Aside providing an excellent Employee Relations service to Corserv Facilities colleagues, the People Advisor will also be involved in the other specialisms of the Employee Lifecycle including Resourcing, Reward, Talent Management and Employee Experience. Primary accountabilities will include: contributing expert advice, guidance and practical support to organisational change and/or service improvement projects, in collaboration with colleagues within the HR service managing a varied and complex caseload extending across the full range of individual employment issues implementing appropriate interventions to secure the timely resolution of individual and collective workplace matters, promoting creative business focussed solutions that ate open and transparent, and sustain a positive and healthy employee relations climate to investigate, present or advise on complex cases at formal hearings under the relevant procedures and liaise with legal advisers in relation to the management of claims to the Employment Tribunal, ensuring that the interests and reputation of the Company are safeguarded working collaboratively with managers in identifying high potential individuals, developing and providing opportunities in the relevant and the wider business providing professional support and coaching to improve management capability and capacity to address individual and collective workplace issues and, where appropriate, promote and facilitate alternatives to the procedural routes for addressing these issues, such as mediation. to participate in the policy review and development programme by contributing to and, from time to time, leading on policy review projects and by making recommendations for improvement drawn from operational experience or contributing guidance on their application maintaining required case management records About you To be successful you will need to demonstrate a sound understanding of employment legislation and regulatory bodies in order to manage employee relations cases, and have a broad-based knowledge of employment legislation (with proven up-to-date knowledge and ‘best practice’ thinking).
