Compliance Coordinator

Position
Forest Garden Group, who lead the UK market in manufacturing and distribution of timber products nationwide to home and store, are seeking a new member to join their busy and evolving Compliance Department. The role is based at our main site in Hartlebury. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm.
Reporting to the Group Regulatory and Assurance Manager, this important role will provide administrative and logistical support to the Group Compliance Department; ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining records, and assisting with various tasks to promote a safe and healthy workplace. This will include compliance with a wide range of topics, including health and safety, environment, customer compliance, timber compliance, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
* Offer general administrative assistance to the Compliance team, including organising files, entering data, and managing communications through our online SHEQ Management software system and other similar platforms.
* Help with the preparation and drafting of reports, documents, presentations, and safety statistics.
* Process invoices and generate purchase orders.
Compliance and Record Keeping:
* Ensure that all HSE policies, procedures, and control documents are current and easily accessible.
* Assist in tracking, documenting, and following up on accidents, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
* Provide support to the team by preparing necessary documents and coordinating with relevant departments.
* Liaise with other departments to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Environmental and Sustainability Support:
* Aid in the monitoring and reporting of environmental data (e.g., waste, energy consumption).
* Support environmental initiatives, sustainability projects, and customer compliance requirements.
* Monitor compliance-related activities and ensure timely reporting.
* Support external audits and inspections as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in an administrative role (preferably in HSE or compliance).
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and quick to learn new systems.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
* Experience in a similar compliance role, especially with health, safety, and environmental compliance software.
* Internal Auditor training or auditing experience/knowledge (of policies, processes, or ISO standard).
