Monday - Friday (8am to 3pm) and Saturday (8am to 12 noon) Rate of Pay c£22 per hour / £29,000 pa (Term Time Only) x 39 hours per week – including Saturday morning Our client is looking for an experienced (Term Time Only) Housekeeping Manager to lead and oversee the housekeeping function within a prestigious school. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage a large team, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across the school. About the Role This role involves leading a team of 26 housekeeping staff, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across classrooms, dormitories, staff accommodation, offices, and communal areas. You will also be responsible for the presentation of school events and functions, ensuring impeccable standards for visitors, parents, and staff. The role requires strong organisation, excellent people management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You must be confident in overseeing rotas, stock control, supplier contracts, and health and safety compliance. Duties Manage and oversee the day-to-day housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas meet high cleanliness standards Lead and support a team of 26 staff, overseeing rotas, training, performance management, and workload distribution Ensure flawless event and function presentation, including table arrangements and room setups Liaise daily with key stakeholders, including the Bursar, Chef Manager, and Maintenance Manager, to coordinate housekeeping needs Oversee budget management, stock control, and supplier contracts to ensure cost-effective operations Implement and maintain health and safety standards, ensuring compliance and staff training Skills & Experience Required Proven experience in a housekeeping management role within a school, hotel, or similar environment Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in supervision and performance management Excellent organisation and time management skills, ensuring smooth daily operations A keen eye for presentation and attention to detail, particularly for event setups Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships A proactive, hands-on approach, with flexibility and reliability A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
