The Isle of Wight Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and subsequently published its Mission Zero Climate and Environment Strategy 2021 – 2040. This new role has been created to support and drive forward the changes needed within our strategy will be pivotal in driving change throughout the Council’s estate.
The Isle of Wight Council has undertaken a number of significant projects across its estate, including the installation of solar technology, air source heat pumps and upgrading the thermal insulation of its glazing in some of its main buildings.
This role will allow the Isle of Wight Council to move forward at pace managing better the utilities it uses and reducing the carbon impact and emissions that the Isle of Wight Council are able to directly control.
