This position will supervise a unit of case workers investigating child abuse and neglect referrals, assessing the risk and safety of the child and taking appropriate action including referring parents and caregivers to safety-related services, safety planning with families, preparing cases for transfer to CPS Permanency Planning, and testifying in court. Provide direct supervision to CPS Investigation Case Workers and Seniors and participate on the local county office management team.
1. Review, assign and monitor CPS investigations to ensure timely initiation and assessment of child safety to reduce recurrence of maltreatment and re-entry into foster care, as well as in-home, voluntary services cases designed to address the safety needs of the child and enhance child and family well-being.
2. Review and approve the unit’s work to ensure the provision of quality family-centered services in CPS investigations.
3. Review case assessments and dispositions to ensure the provision of quality family-centered, child-focused investigations and ongoing protective services, and other duties as assigned to achieve agency mission.
