The Nelson Trust is a pioneering charity dedicated to transforming lives and breaking the cycles of addiction, trauma, and criminal justice involvement. Our award-winning Women’s Centres provide holistic, gender-specialist support to women facing multiple disadvantages. We offer safe, women-only spaces where women can thrive.
Join our dedicated team at The Nelson Trust as a Psychologist, where you will play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of women facing multiple disadvantages. In collaboration with the University of Birmingham, our enhanced casework model aims to improve outcomes through lower caseloads and additional clinical oversight. As a Psychologist, you will support keyworkers in addressing complex cases involving trauma, mental health challenges, and substance misuse, and contribute to developing individualised treatment plans through psychological evaluations.
You will provide clinical oversight and support to our multidisciplinary teams, enhancing their capacity to address psychological factors in their work. Your role will include offering immediate psychological support in crisis situations, providing clinical supervision to minimise vicarious trauma, and fostering psychological safety and resilience among staff.
We are looking for a registered psychologist with proven experience in providing psychological services to individuals with addiction, trauma, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres, this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
The Nelson Trust is committed to safeguarding; the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced Children & Adults DBS check.
The Nelson Trust is committed to increasing the diversity of its workforce and welcomes applications from individuals across all sectors of society.
This is an opportunity for new, challenging, and highly rewarding experiences. Our staff make a real difference to people’s lives, and in return for your commitment and enthusiasm, we offer a comprehensive training and development programme, a generous pension scheme, and a positive working environment.
Join us in making a real difference in the lives of women at The Nelson Trust. Apply today to be part of our compassionate and innovative team.
