Person Specification
Education and Qualifications:
Essential Criteria
1. BTEC certificate in applied sciences/NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent.
2. Accredited technician checking qualification.
3. Accreditation in Medicines Management (or equivalent).
4. Completion of a recognised leadership/management course and/or relevant experience in managing staff and resources.
5. Registered with GPhC as a technician.
Desirable Criteria
1. Leadership/Management Course.
2. Practice supervisor/Education supervisor.
Knowledge:
Essential Criteria
1. Dispensing.
2. Pharmaceutical Practice.
3. Hospital Pharmacy Practice.
4. Good clinical knowledge.
5. Medicines Optimisation processes.
6. Patient Counselling.
7. NHS Organisational Structure.
8. Laws and principles related to Information Security and Confidentiality.
Desirable Criteria
1. Excel - minimum intermediate level.
Experience:
Essential Criteria
1. Appropriate post qualification hospital experience.
2. Ability to work within clearly defined occupational policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
3. Proven ability to manage own workload and the workload of others, delegating supervision activities as appropriate.
4. Knowledge and experience of recording data, including sensitive information, on pharmacy computerised data record systems.
5. Experience in organising daily activities of staff within a team.
6. Experience of working with a wide range of other health care professionals.
7. Experience of providing training.
Desirable Criteria
1. Training staff.
2. Audit participation.
3. Experience in developing and implementing SOPs.
4. Experience of conducting and reporting project & audit work.
