RINA is currently recruiting for a Power Earthing Consultancy Engineer to join its office in Pontyclun within the Consulting Country UK Division.
Overview
The Graduate Electrical Engineer works within the Power / Earthing & Lightning Protection Unit and reports to the Head of Earthing & Lightning Protection.
The purpose of the role is to support the E&LP team in servicing their client base, providing solutions to earthing & lightning protection projects across diverse sectors.
The role will be based at the Pontyclun Office and will involve frequent travel to client substation locations UK Wide.
Responsibilities
Developing the necessary skills to undertake:
1. Site based electrical testing and inspection of earthing systems at substations, power stations, renewable energy projects, etc.
2. Analysis of data gathered on site.
3. Design of earthing systems for new HV infrastructure projects.
4. Computer simulation of earthing systems and completion of safety assessments.
5. Dealing with RINA clients to request technical input data, communicate outputs and resolve queries
6. Preparation of reports to required quality standards.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Electrical Engineering degree – Bachelor level
Able and willing to attend clients sites at various locations around the UK to perform physically demanding earth testing work
Willing to stay away from home for short periods - e.g. 2 to 4 nights per week while carrying out site testing
Desirable
Electrical Engineering degree – Masters level
Use of AutoCAD or other CAD software
