Job summary We are looking for a clinical support worker higher level with suitable theatre experience or willing to learn the role of a clinical support worker. The successful applicant will be working within the General Theatre & Obstetrics portfolio assisting and caring for patients undergoing surgery, and will have the opportunity to emergency theatre lists covering more specialities. The role of a clinical support worker higher level within the theatre department is a specialised and extremely interesting and rewarding role. As a support worker you will be directly impacting on the quality of care we provide to patients undergoing a surgical procedure. Main duties of the job Post holders will be appointed at band 2 or band 3 depending upon qualifications. Band 2 requirements - willingness to undertake all relevant training and qualifications if wishing to develop into a band 3 role. Band 3 requirements - Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or GCSE equivalent (A-C/ 4-9) Care certificate Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3; - Theoretical knowledge - Experience of a range of care and related procedures - clinical observations - knowledge of relevant legislation There is a clear framework to allow for postholders to develop from a band 2 to band 3 and this includes completion of the qualifications.
